The Information Collected

The purpose of the information collected is to provide business and advisory and chartered accounting services to you, notify you of useful information in relation to tax and accounting and new services or seminars we are undertaking.

The kind of information collected may include contact details, tax file number, financial information both personal and business related and information of a commercial nature. Wherever possible we will collect this information directly from you. In some instances we will be provided information about you from the Australian Taxation Office and similar reporting bodies. As tax agents we receive notification from these bodies on your behalf, this information will be copied and kept on file by us and the original notice forwarded to you promptly. Receipt of these notices by you from our office indicates that the information has been collected. An example of such information is a Notice of Assessment or Change in PAYG Instalment Rate.

If you do not provide all the information required we may not be able to complete the assignment in a timely or accurate manner and penalties from reporting bodies may result.

Disclosure

As reasonably expected practice within the accounting profession, we may disclose information to the Australian Taxation Office or other reporting bodies while conducting our services to you. Reporting mechanisms such as Income Tax Returns require signature by the client prior to lodging and your signature is considered permission to disclose the information. We require your permission for all other disclosures.

Access to the information required will be granted within 30 days. We reserve the right to charge a minimal recovery fee.
