Chris is Managing Director of Bartons and has been with the firm since 2005. Prior to this, he was a partner for many years with the Adelaide member firm of international group Moore Stephens in a range of roles, including leader of that firm’s Health Services Group.
Chris works with a large group of medical practitioner clients, advising their practices on business issues, and personally on financial, taxation and asset protection strategies.
Chris is a regular commentator for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and is featured in the College’s national Business Essentials Audio CD series. He is a regular speaker and presenter to various Medical Craft Groups, including Surgeons, Physicians, Anaesthetists, Psychiatrists and others.
An important part of Chris’ work is to co-ordinate client service with Bartons Financial Services, the financial planning arm of the firm, to ensure delivery of integrated solutions to clients’ financial requirements. He is an experienced company director and has sat on a number of boards of commercial and not-for-profit organisations. He has a long standing interest in the health industry in Australia.
Chris is married to Carolyn Lavender, a general medical practitioner, and has two adult children. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, travelling and enjoying good food and wine. As a result of a recent heart event, Chris has got to know his cardiologist particularly well from a different perspective.
